The Domestic Goddess brought this special day to our attention.
I remember the first time I learned about autism. I was about 14-years-old and it was while reading my psychology book as a homework assignment. Yes, my high school taught sociology and psychology. I remember reading about the disorder in my book and wondering why scientist hadn’t figured out the cause. I was pretty bright eyed and naiive at that point in my life. While I have in addition to science and medicine come a long way since then — we still have a long way to go.

WEEE! Thanks for the shout out.
The first discussion of autism I can remember was, believe it or not, on the TV show Quincy. Strange how some things stick. He was trying to prove that the kid was autistic; for some reason there was some doubt or something like that. I don’t know, kinda fuzzy.
